Proposed Bill To End Federal Prohibition of Medical Marijuana

A bill was introduced by Mr. Corey Booker on June 15, 2017 to enable research into the medicinal properties of marijuana. This Act is cited as the “Compassionate Access, Research Expansion, and Respect States Act of 2017” or “CARERS Act of 2017”. If the Act is enacted the Attorney General shall issue licenses for marijuana research to manufacture and distribute marijuana for research approved by the Food and Drug Administration.
